The Birth Order Theory of personality says that a therapist needs to understand an individual within the context of his or her social environment.
Why are some people independent and self-confident and can lead? Why are some people cautious and never take risks? Why are some sensitive or always trying to seek attention?
According to Adler, character traits and behaviours come primarily from developmental issues, including birth order. In other words, your personality has a lot to do with whether you are a first child, a middle child, a last child, or an only child.
