Live Commentary is an opportunity to talk about the ordinary (or extraordinary) things that are happening to us, what we are doing, reading or experiencing on a daily basis.

This is the Live Commentary for Friday March the 10th, 2017. Today is the 69th day of the year in the Gregorian calendar. There are 296 days left till the end of the year.

On this day in 1922, Mahatma Gandhi was arrested in India and sentenced to six years in prison. (He was released after nearly two years.)

Today is also the anniversary of the U.S. Army Air Force firebombing Tokyo killing more than 100,000 people, mostly civilians. The Operation Meetinghouse air raid of 9–10 March 1945 was later estimated to be the single most destructive bombing raid in history.

On the bright side, today is the day on which (in 1876) Alexander Graham Bell said, “Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you.”

Don’t forget to share with us how your day’s going…
