I choose to practice yoga a long time ago, when I was 18 because I was reading Jack Kerouac: The Dharma Bums after having reading On the road. I dreamed at that time to travel alone on the American roads reading poetry and living a lot of experiences.
But reality is reality; I stood at my parents’ home, I bought a book to practice yoga in my room. It was the time I listened to Pink floyd’s music, Bob Dylan…. Unfortunatly not good enough in English, I red translations poetry.
Some years after when I was the 4 children’s mother , I practice Yoga in a 1.30 hour course, in a beautiful place, on a hill, it was My Heaven of Peace!!
Anyway, I agree with Azadeh, Yoga is not a sport like running or biking, it’s exercises for the body and also a kind of letting go. And I need it almost every day.
