Why do we say that sparrows have “sparrow” brains?

In cities, sparrows are developing innovative strategies for food. We often make fun of them, while they imagine new ways of eating and adapt to their environment. I think we should look at them more closely and in a different way… Don’t you think so?

Language Note

“Sparrow brain” is a direct translation of the French expression “cervelle de moineau”. The English equivalent is “bird-brained”.
