There is a poster in front of me, just above my computer. It reminds me the blue of a beautiful summer sky, obviously not in the North of France.
It reminds me also this strange and beautiful sensation when I was in front of this painting.

It reminded me of Mark Rothko. I don’t know if the two painters had any influence on one another or not.
Thank you so much for this post. It reminds us of the beauty of simplicity, a blue sky meditation, something which is nowadays very scarce in big cities like Tehran.
I don’t think these 2 painters had any influence on one another. Rothko admired Matisse and in a title of one his painting he wrote ” Tribute to Matisse”. When you see a Rothko’s painting you almost see the transparency of the painting, the layer is very thin, the colors are floating. you can experiment in front of one of them in the Tehran ‘s Modern Art Museum . In opposite Klein ‘s painting is depth with strenghth pigments. But both, were searching a spiritual way in their abstract works. I saw beautiful blue skies in Iran, not in Tehran… Read more »
