Soon, it will be summertime. Time to walk but also time to read novels.
Last summer, my daughter-in-law suggested I read Donna Tartt’s novel, The Goldfinch. (Nothing to see with the famous Pejman’s goldfish). Frankly, it’s the best novel I read these ten last years. I let you discover the plot of the story here.

Unfortunately there is no Persian translation of this book. I must either wait for its translation or read the English version of the book. Of course the former is more probable!
Good luck with your reading list! I gave up reading novels years ago…
Have you read this novel in English? If so and if you want to read another one in English I can suggest you “One Day” (that’s the only English novel I have read). The structure and the way the writer has told the story was new to me and persuaded me to watch the film as well.
Yesterday, the 15th of July, I began to read “One Day”. Thank you for your suggestion. It’s pleasant to read: easy vocabulary, many dialogues. A good novel to learn English! Although, after reading two pages, I was tired.
No I haven’t. After reading The Goldfinch in French, I tried to read The Secret Story in English. But I didn’t finish it. D. Tartt is a good writer and it was too difficult for me. In English I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows because, like my children, I couldn’t wait the translation in French.
I’ll try to read One Day. Why not the 15th of July?
I don’t get it !! What’s special about the 15th of July? In my calendar it’s “Welfare’s Day”. :))))
On Wikipedia, the plot of One Day by D. Nicholls told us that a young man and a young woman decided, after their studies, to meet one day by year, the 15th of July for twenty years.
