How can people be put under anaesthesia for emergency surgery without fasting?
I have a question: We are all told about the importance of fasting before general anaesthesia to prevent the risk of aspiration which may cause death. If that is true, then how can people be put under anaesthesia for emergency surgery without having been NPO?!
