As we have a couple of days of vacation, I and my family decided to visit our relatives in Sanandj, the center of Kurdistan province.

While we were there, we had to go to the countryside with a friend one afternoon. It is spring in north hemisphere and everywhere is green, a special light green that in our climate remains only for about two weeks. Then the green ground become gray and the green leaves get darker.

The place which I was there is a part of a vast meadow and farmer are preparing some parts of it for cultivation.

I know the word “weed” used in French to name the drug. Is it a generic word for a sort of plant?

The word “weed” has no botanical significance. It does not refer to a specific type of plant.

Weed can be used to refer to:

  • Any wild plant that grows in gardens or on farms and prevents the plants that you want from growing well.
  • A plant that grows in water and usually forms a thick floating mass

Weed is also:

  • An informal word for marijuana (cannabis) or for tobacco

At the moment, you can smell the scent of the lilac and many blossoming shrubs. Along La Marque, we have pleasantly surprised by the scent of almonds! Yesterday, in my mother’s garden, I cut a sprig of Lily of the Valley.… Read more »

I suggest:
… which is the dominant climate type in our country

For the last sentence, you have not made any changes to the part that was marked as incorrect and have instead modified the other parts of the sentence. You should perhaps give it another try? ;-)

Would love to hear your thoughts...x
